Howdy Larry! The Floyds decided to check out your web site on the internet. This is Susanne typing right now. John has had access for several months and is starting to get into playing around on the WWW. Anne is still computer illiterate and it was like pulling teeth to even get her to walk in the computer room to look at your web site. I think the overall consensus is the sight is nifty.

Now, Susanne told me to tell you something good and I will have to think real hard about that. My life has been a wreck this week getting new glasses and let me tell you that was an ordeal-----three prescriptions, three new pairs of frames and 7 pairs of lenses that did not work and finally the eighth visit and the eighth pair of glasses were right. I feel liberated and can see again at last.

A SMALL JOKE:

I must admit that this was kind of fun.......

Larry, You have an interesting page. Westmorelands I was born in Texas City, Texas on 12/19/37 (Richard Eugene Westmoreland). My dad was Marion Donnis Westmoreland, born 10/27/15 between DeBerry and Elysian Fields, Texas. He was killed in the Texas City disaster on April 16, 1947. He was one of the 27 vol. firemen that was fighting the fire and all of them were killed that day. He also worked for Monsanto, the plant next to where the ship explosion occurred. We may be kin. I went down the listing of Phillip R. Westmoreland. My name wasn't there, but one of my sons was, Michael E. Westmoreland that lives in Santa Fe, Texas and his son Shawn M. Westmoreland that lives in Round Rock, Texas. He has a great list. A lot of my cousins, uncles and a brother is on his list and of course there are a lot of them that are not. I will chat with you again. You, Betty and Faye have a very nice home page.

Hi. My name is Blair Westmoreland and I found your home page just browsing and noticed we were both from Texas. I am from Beaumont and I have lived there all my life. I am now in the military and I live in California.I am also interested in family history, but I am new to it so I know very little. I do know my great grandma's name was Reba Cox and then, of course, Reba Westmoreland. She was from Vidor, Texas. Maybe we can make a connection...

Hey how are you? I hope your holidays were as enjoyable as mine. I went back to beautiful east Texas and had a blast! I was just wondering if you knew some little facts about the history of our last name such as, what country it is actually from and if it changed any from it's original form. Thanks a million and happy New Year. Blair Westmoreland.

Hello, I visited your web page not long ago and saw you were interested in genealogy. I was wondering if you may be able to help me with my roots search. I am a Westmoreland descendant as follows: Robert (1752-1791, VA), Williamson (1787-abt 1855 in TN), John Pennington (1817-1910, died near Phalba, Tx), James L. Westmoreland (born 1869 in Tn - died ???), Gladys Westmoreland. James L. was my great grandfather. He and my great grandmother, Bessie Holman, divorced about 1908. They lived somewhere near Wills Point and Canton, Tx. Bessie Holman Westmoreland moved back to Illinois with her two daughters in 1908 or 1909. No one in the family every heard what became of James L. Westmoreland. I have been trying to find out whatever became of him - when and where he died, etc. and was hoping perhaps you may have a geneaological link to my Westmoreland family and might know something. My email address is JBV51@aol.com

Hello, my name is also Larry Westmoreland and my wife's name is also Betty. We live in Valparaiso,Indiana. I've been working on my family genealogy for about five years. My ancestors came across Tenn. from S.C. I was born in Dyersburg,Tenn. My mother and father moved to Gary, Ind. in the late 1940's. I have lived in Indiana all my life. There are over 600 descendants from my grandfather (William Dennis Westmoreland), living from Indiana to Flordia. My Wife and I are down here in Covington,Ga. visiting my children and grandchildren. This is the first time that I have used the internet and was very excited to see someone with my name on the net. We will be visiting GA until March 30 th. You can e-mail at me at my daughter's and she will forward any messages (mkhardy@bellsouth.net). Thank you, Larry Westmoreland

Larry,

First of all I would like to thank you for adding my name to your "Family Association" page. Believe me I am honored deeply. I know, it may not seem like that big a deal, but it is to me. Thank you again.

I was looking at your "family Page" and noticed that one of the places you enjoy is Victoria Island. Having been born in Everette, Washington and enjoying going home once in a while, we go up there every so often. I'll have to write you about the time right after or not long after the Mt Saint Helens erruption, when I talked Myrna into a helecopter ride up the Tuttle River canyon to Mt Saint Helens. What an experience. What I was going to say was, we use to go up and visit relatives and end up over at Port Angles for a few days and then over to Victoria Island. One time we were there and happened to see the Govenor's Tax collection. We were driving around and saw all these people going into this fancy place and decided that it being Sunday and all. It must be an "OPEN HOUSE".. So in we went. All these people dressed to the 9's and there we were. Another point for the house of Westmoreland. (ha)

Hope this finds all well with you part of the family.

Ray & Myrna Westmoreland
